Durante una recente intervista rilasciata per Music Feeds, Corey Beaulieu chitarrista dei Trivium, dichiara che gli piacerebbe tornare a dividere il palco con gli Avenged Sevenfold.

MF: You’ve been able to play with most of your metal idols, are there any left to rock the stage with that you have yet to?
CB: We’ve done festivals and shows with pretty much everybody, but we’ve never done a full tour with Metallica, we’ve done some shows and festivals, but we’ve never done a full tour. That would be fun. We’ve never done a tour with Megadeth either, we’ve done festivals and Mayhem, which is like a festival tour but never like a package tour.
Another big band that we haven’t done a normal tour with, we’re really good friends with them so hopefully someday we’ll be able to do it, is Avenged Sevenfold. We’ve been wanting to that for such a long time, so hopefully if we have things work out the way we want, we’ll be able to do a run of shows with them in the near future.
MF: Obviously you’re all huge fans of 80’s metal including the big four of thrash and beyond, if you had to put together a bill of a ‘big four’ of modern metal, who would be in it, and do you make the cut? Or would you be the first support?
CB: If I was going to do this, I’d keep it in the spirit of the original big four and select a time period because like Avenged Sevenfold, Us, and Bullet for My Valentine all came out almost around the exact same time. Obviously, I think that Killswitch Engage would also have to be on there. Another good one that would have to be in the conversation would have to be Lamb of God as well, so it’d have to be expanded out to five or so bands to fit us all in!

MF: Se poteste suonare con i vostri idoli metal, ce ne sono alcune ancora in circolo con cui vi piacerebbe farlo?
Corey: Abbiamo suonato in festival e show con praticamente chiunque, ma non abbiamo mi fatto un intero tour con i Metallica. Ci abbiamo suonato per qualche show e festival, ma mai un tour completo. Sarebbe divertente. E non lo abbiamo mai fatto neanche con i Megadeth, solo festival e Mayhem che è un festival in tour ma non è come un tour vero e proprio.
Un’altra grande band con cui non abbiamo ancora fatto un vero e proprio tour e con cui siamo molto amici e, spero di poterlo fare, sono gli Avenged Sevenfold. Abbiamo voluto farlo per veramente tanto tempo e, se le cose andranno come speriamo, saremo in grado di fare una serie di concerti con loro nel prossimo futuro.
MF: Ovviamente siete tutti fans del metal anni 80, inclusi i big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer ed Antrax, per chi non ricordi!) del trash e oltre, se dovessi mettere insieme una bill di “4 grandi” del metal moderno, chi ci sarebbe dentro e chi no? O sareste voi la prima band di spalla?
Corey: Se dovessi fare una cosa simile, manterrei lo spirito dell’originale big 4 e selezionerei un periodo perchè Avenged Sevenfold, noi e Bullet for my Valentine siamo tutti “usciti” nello stesso periodo. Ovviamente, penso che anche i Killswitch Engage sarebbero fra i nomi. Un’altra buona band che potrebbe essere inclusa sono i Lamb of God, quindi andrebbe allargato a cinque e passa band per includerci tutti!

Che dire ragazzi? Speriamo veramente che i progetti dei Trivium riescano ad incontrarsi con quelli dei nostri (che, vi ricordiamo, stanno tornando! Prima data confermata 20 agosto, in America) e che possa nascere un tour che vede entrambe le band dividersi lo stage magari proprio in Europa!
